7 Books I (Desperately) Want to Read in May

Hello friends!

I’m absolutely ecstatic to announce that I have submitted my final assignment yesterday, and I have since made the conscious decision to never think about this semester ever again. It is dead to me.

On a less grim note, however, I now have all the time in the world to read!

R-right? Continue reading “7 Books I (Desperately) Want to Read in May”

Wrap-ups & TBR

My definition of productivity is finding more books to add to my TBR and then painstakingly carving out space on my schedule to read them while trying not to dwell on the fact that I’m a college student with little time, and even less money.

Hello, friends! I’m posting this after midnight on March 1st which is MY BIRTHDAY! I’m officially 20 years old and that sounds…..fake and horrifying. I can’t believe 14 years old me thought people in their 20s were adults when in reality, being an adult is just being dragged into the most depressing sort of party where everyone is just fumbling around, bumping into each other, and asking where the free food is.

I hate being so clumsy with words when words mean so much but I’m genuinely grateful for this community. Thank you, everyone, for the kind words, the support, the birthday wishes, the unexpected book gifts. I can’t fully articulate how much these acts of kindness mean to me and how they alleviate the sting of spending yet another birthday alone, in a city where I don’t have any close friends to celebrate with, in a country that’s an ocean away from home. I appreciate you guys more than you know.

Anyway, I should probably stop here before the situation becomes more maudlin than anyone could abide. *covers up feelings with aggressive sarcasm* So, without further ado, here’s my March TBR! Continue reading “BOOKS I WANT TO READ IN MARCH…AND OTHER STUFF”

ft. On the Come Up, The Priory of the Orange Tree, The Winter of the Witch and many more!

Another month, another overly-ambitious TBR pile for a college student.

Imagine actually managing to read all the books on your planned TBR list for the month. Wow, I think I just got chills.

With all seriousness there are so many interesting releases coming out this month and deciding on which to prioritize was no easy feat. I mean, come on, there are 12 months in the year, what is it about February 5th and 26th that’s so goddamn appealing and made every publisher eager to release their book on those specific dates? I need answers.

Anyway, without further ado, here’s my TBR for the month! Continue reading “ft. On the Come Up, The Priory of the Orange Tree, The Winter of the Witch and many more!”

Ft. King of Scars, Two Can Keep a Secret, The Dead Queens Club and many more!

Hello, friends!

I can name more books coming out this month that I’m excited for than I have friends. It’s sort of depressiong, really. But hey! At least, I’ll never run out of books to read! I’ll take small victories wherever I can find them.

My tbr list for this month consists mostly of January releases (because I will keep up with new releases this year even if it kills me goddammit!), two 2018 releases and two 2017 releases!

Let’s get into it! Continue reading “Ft. King of Scars, Two Can Keep a Secret, The Dead Queens Club and many more!”

🍂 HUGE OCTOBER TBR 🍂 Spooky reads and most anticipated releases!

me: *looks at the 20 books on my tbr for October*

me: *yelling at myself with a megaphone* WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU LIKE THIS?

Hello, friends! First of all, I’d like to formally call myself out for always planning an unrealistically humongous tbr and inevitably setting myself up for failure, only to then wallow miserably in my disappointment…..then doing it all over again because mama truly raised a dumbass! But I figured, since no dead ancestor has appeared (yet) in the sky to stop me, it can’t be that bad of a decision, now can it? July Wrap-Up + August TBR

You know that feeling of unrivaled bliss when you’re finally in the mood to read after months of relentless slumping and it’s like you’re seeing the sun after a lifetime of shadows? That’s me. The universe has somehow aligned in my favor and I’ve read a total of 15 books this month, most of which were remarkably impressive reads, and two of which were, well, remarkably unimpressive.
